You don't have time to make a game, but you do have time to remix one
Hi!
An update from Cambrian as we bring remixing to games. Remixing has changed music and allowed anyone into the creative process, we want to do the same for games. Copy, transform and combine existing games to create your own. Make your own version of the games you love. Modding has been huge in the gaming community, now we will take it to the next level with Cambrian.
Stable Diffusion has arrived!
AI represents a huge opportunity to make game creation easier. AI is excellent at remixing, it can help produce new creations inspired by past ones. Cambrian has used Dall-E from OpenAI for images. We listened to your feedback. The image generation had too narrow a range of filters, preventing it from creating images of celebrities or any slightly threatening situation.
We have added a second AI image generator into Cambrian, Stable Diffusion. This will allow more free and unconstrained creation!
There are content filters to keep Cambrian a friendly and welcoming place, but we hope you find them more liberating.
Cambrian grows!
Our development team welcomes four new faces as Cambrian expands to six people. These much-needed reinforcements come at a crucial time as we build the Cambrian Game Editor. Each brings years of experience and excitement, they have worked with our CTO Ned before and jumped at the chance to do so again.
Beyond the Prototype
Our work is focused on building the Cambrian Game Editor. An accessible games editor that anyone can use (coding or no coding) to change, edit and build games. This will replace Scratch, which is used in the current prototype product, allowing you to create a wider range of games much easier than before.
The types of games that will be made possible at first are 2D and turn-based. Card games, board games, Tycoons, Worms, Farming sims, XCOM, and Civilisation, are the sorts of games you can expect.
We are looking forward to sharing more progress we the new team as we build!
